Ranveer Singh & Sonakshi Sinha’s Lootera Set for Re-Release on March 7

Lootera, the 2013 romantic drama starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, is all set for a theatrical re-release on March 7, 2025. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Phantom Films, the movie, which initially struggled at the box office, has since gained a cult following for its storytelling, music, and timeless charm.

Lootera, the 2013 romantic drama starring **Ranveer Singh** and **Sonakshi Sinha**, is all set for a theatrical re-release on March 7, 2025. Directed by **Vikramaditya Motwane** and produced by Phantom Films, the movie, which initially struggled at the box office, has since gained a cult following for its storytelling, music, and timeless charm.  


Originally released in July 2013, Lootera draws inspiration from O. Henry’s classic short story The Last Leaf. Set in the 1950s against the backdrop of the **Zamindari Abolition Act , the film follows the journey of  Varun Srivastav (Ranveer Singh), a young con artist posing as an archaeologist, who arrives in a small Bengali village. There, he falls deeply in love with Pakhi Roy Chaudhary (Sonakshi Sinha), the sheltered daughter of a zamindar. However, their blossoming romance takes a heartbreaking turn when Varun’s true identity is revealed, leading to betrayal, heartbreak, and emotional turmoil.
