Woman Found Inside Python After Disappearance in Indonesia

A tragic incident unfolded in Indonesia, where a woman named Farida, 45, went missing and was later found dead inside the belly of a large python. The incident occurred in Kalempang village, South Sulawesi province, central Indonesia.

Farida's disappearance on Thursday night prompted a search by her husband and fellow villagers. Their search led them to a reticulated python measuring around five meters (16 feet) on Friday. Sadly, upon examination, they discovered Farida's remains inside the snake's stomach.

Local official Suardi Rosi, the village head, reported that Farida's belongings were found near the python, raising suspicions. This led to the villagers cutting open the snake's belly, where Farida was unfortunately found fully clothed.

While uncommon, such incidents have been reported in Indonesia in recent years. In 2022, villagers had to kill an eight-meter python that was constricting and consuming a local farmer. Similarly, a 54-year-old woman was found dead inside a python in 2018, and a farmer was discovered to have been eaten by a python in 2017.
