Manipur moving towards peace: RSS Prachar Pramukh

Guwahati: Addressing the media persons at the backdrop of Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak in New Delhi, Ambekar observed encouraging developments on the ground. “When a situation deteriorates somewhere, it does not improve overnight. But in comparison to last year, normalcy has begun to return in Manipur. This is the beginning of peace. Dialogues are being held from both sides, and a constructive path is expected to emerge from this,” he added. The RSS publicity chief’s remark came at a time when multiple initiatives are underway to restore peace and rebuild trust among various communities (precisely Meitei and Kuki people), aiming for reconciliation and peace. While the situation remains sensitive, consistent efforts by social and spiritual organisations are underway, and signs of calm are emerging. However, it was complete normalcy will take some more time."

Organised at Keshav Kunj of Jhandewalan locality in  Delhi on 4, 5, 6 July 2025, the annual Baithak attracted over  230 Pracharaks and karyakartas from all 46 prants (according to Sangh’s structure) all over the country, where Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat  and Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale gave them Marg-darshan. All Sah- Sarkaryavah including Dr Krishnagopal, CR Mukund, Arun Kumar, Shri Ramdutt, Atul Limaye and Alok Kumar as well as sangathan mantris of 32 RSS-inspired organisations attended the meeting. Ambekar in the press briefing informed that the planning for the centenary year was discussed in the Baithak.

During the centenary year (2025–26), over one lakh Hindu Sammelans will be organised at Mandal level in rural areas and at Basti level in urban areas across Bharat with the participation of all sections of the society, he added. At present there are 58,964 Mandals and 44,055 Bastis. In these Sammelans, there will be discussion on social festivals, social unity and harmony and Panch Parivartan (five transformations). Similarly, Samajik Sadbhav Baithaks (social harmony meetings) will be organised in 11360 blocks/towns to promote social harmony in the society. There are a total of 924 districts according to Sangh Structure. In these districts, Pramukh Nagrik Seminars will be organised. In the seminars topics like Ideas of Bharat, pride of Bharat, Bharat’s Swa etc will be discussed. Ambekar further said that an outreach program will be conducted through Grih Sampark. Efforts will be made to reach maximum houses in every village and every Basti. The main goal for the centenary year is inclusive outreach across professions, geographies, and communities to foster holistic social integration. Sangh centenary year will start from Vijayadashami Utsav, which will be organised nationwide. On Vijayadashami, swayamsevaks from all sections including professionals and people from varied fields will participate in the festival.

“The nation is progressing economically across all sectors, especially in the realm of technology and various facets of life, there is a concerted effort toward advancement. This progress is happening both at the government level and among individuals. But while the country is moving forward, it is not enough to progress solely in terms of economy or technology. Alongside this, it is equally important to uphold the unique characteristics of our society and nation such as individual welfare, living together harmoniously, and being mindful of the environment. These core values of Panch Parivartan  must accompany our progress and are a significant aspect of our vision. This message will be carried out to the society through all the programs in the centenary year. If society thinks about it and participates in it, then our progress will not be one-sided, but inclusive and will move forward taking everyone together,” said Ambekar.

Along with centenary year programs, discussions were also held regarding various contemporary topics. In the Baithak, information was shared regarding the current situation in Manipur, the work being done by the Swayamsevaks and the efforts being made for social harmony. Karyakartas coming from bordering Prants shared their experience and the present condition of their region, added Ambekar.
A total of 100 Prashikshan Vargs (training camps) were conducted across the country from April to June this year. 17,609 Karyakartas received training in 75 Vargs organised for swayamsevaks below the age of 40. Similarly, 4,270 Shiksharthis participated in 25 Vargs organised for the age group of 40 to 60 years. Karyakartas from 8,812 places in the country participated in Sangh Shiksha Varg.
Answering a question, Ambekar revealed that the religious conversion by greed, force, taking advantage of someone’s situation, and by conspiracy is unacceptable. In another aspect, he stated that RSS considers all Bharatiya Bhasas as national language and the Sangh believes that primary education should be in the mother tongue. He further said that the decline in Naxalism is visible due to people’s resistance and effective governmental response. The violence must end, and constructive pathways must be adopted, he asserted.   Delhi Prant Sanghchalak Dr Anil Agarwal, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukhs Narendra Thakur and Pradip Joshi were also present in the 7 July press briefing.
