A special repatriation flight carrying 290 Indian students from Iran landed safely in Delhi today, with two more flights scheduled to arrive later.
The flight, part of the government’s ongoing effort to bring back stranded citizens from conflict or crisis zones, touched down at the Indira Gandhi International Airport earlier today. The students, who had been stuck in various parts of Iran due to academic or travel restrictions, expressed relief and gratitude upon landing.
Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that two more special flights from Iran are expected to arrive in Delhi before the end of the day. These operations are being coordinated in partnership with the Indian Embassy in Tehran, ensuring that all students return home safely and swiftly.
All returnees will undergo medical screening and adhere to health protocols as advised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Arrangements for quarantine and further transport have also been set up.
The Indian government’s swift response in organizing evacuation flights underscores its commitment to the safety of its citizens abroad. Parents and families were seen waiting at the airport with joy and relief, many holding banners welcoming their children back home.
This marks a significant chapter in India’s ongoing repatriation missions, especially for students pursuing education overseas during times of unrest or global emergencies.
