Himanta Biswa Sarma is an Indian politician and attorney who has been the 15th and current Chief Minister of Assam since 2021. Sarma, a former member of the Indian National Congress, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 23 August 2015 and was subsequently appointed convenor of NEDA. He was born on February 1, 1969, in Jorhat, Assam.
