Prajwal Revanna speaks publicly for the first time after his conviction in the rape case, calling the judgment “politically motivated.”
The JD(S) MP and grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Prajwal Revanna, issued his first public statement following the controversial verdict that has triggered political tremors across Karnataka. He asserted that the ruling was influenced by political forces aimed at discrediting his family and party.
In his statement, Revanna added that he would challenge the judgment in a higher court and expressed faith in the judiciary. The case, which involves multiple allegations of sexual assault, had been under investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which presented strong evidence leading to his conviction.
While the JD(S) maintains silence on his political future, opposition parties are intensifying their demand for his immediate resignation and legal accountability. Legal experts believe the coming weeks will be crucial as appeals are filed and political tensions continue to rise.
