Amit Shah Pays Tribute on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Highlights Lessons from History

Union Home Minister Amit Shah marked Partition Horrors Remembrance Day with a heartfelt tribute to those who suffered during the tragic event, urging the nation to learn from history and strengthen unity.

He emphasized the importance of remembering the struggles of millions who endured displacement, violence, and loss in 1947, stating that such painful chapters must inspire us to protect peace and harmony in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah reflected on the magnitude of the human tragedy that unfolded during the Partition of India, which led to the displacement of over 14 million people and claimed countless lives. He stressed that the day serves as a reminder not only of the sorrow but also of the resilience and courage shown by survivors who rebuilt their lives against all odds.

Amit Shah called upon citizens, especially the younger generation, to understand the historical significance of the Partition and the lessons it holds for the present and future. He reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving the memories of those affected, ensuring such tragedies are never repeated. The Home Minister also highlighted that remembering this dark chapter should inspire unity and strengthen the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India).
