Landslides Block Roads, Rivers Flow Close to Danger Mark; Doda Severely Hit

Landslides have disrupted road connectivity while rivers continue to flow dangerously close to the danger mark, with Doda district being the worst affected. The heavy rainfall over the past few days has triggered multiple landslides across hilly terrains, blocking national and state highways. As a result, thousands of commuters remain stranded, and essential supplies face severe disruption.

Authorities have reported that rivers in the region are flowing at alarming levels, putting nearby villages at risk of flooding. Rescue teams have been deployed to monitor the situation and provide assistance to residents in vulnerable zones. In Doda, the situation has worsened with significant damage to infrastructure, leaving locals in distress.

Emergency officials have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel and remain alert to warnings issued by the administration. Meanwhile, road-clearing operations are underway, but continuous rainfall has slowed down the efforts. The government has also set up temporary shelters for those displaced due to rising water levels.

Experts have warned that if rainfall continues at the current pace, the situation could escalate further, leading to potential flooding and more landslides in fragile areas. Doda’s worsening condition highlights the urgent need for effective disaster preparedness and long-term solutions for landslide-prone re

gions.
