While hearing the increasing threat of stray dogs and the incidents of dog bites, the Supreme Court of India has made a strong comment. The court reprimanded the dog lovers, asking, "Are your feelings just for dogs and not for humans?"
The Supreme Court clearly said that if a person dies or suffers serious injury due to dog bites, then the responsibility of the state governments as well as dog feeders will be fixed, and hefty compensation will have to be paid in such cases.
Objection to the presence of dogs in public places
The court raised serious questions on the presence of dogs in public places like schools, hospitals and court premises. The court said that these places should be kept free of dogs as the dogs can attack by sniffing fear, which can endanger the lives of children, the elderly and the patients.
